About me
I came across the Lagotto Romagnolo in 2003. I was looking for another agility dog and already had a Bichon Frise. A Crufts agility finalist, my Bichon Disney had me hooked on this activity.
I did however want to look at a slightly bigger dog but stay with a non-moulting breed due to my allergies. In 2004 I brought home my lovely Lagotto Cia.
Cia achieved both top showing and agility awards, including being a finalist at Crufts in both activities!
She has been a tremendous asset to the breed in promoting the Lagotto within the UK . Her descendants have gone on to achieve great things in both the show world and canine sports. Sadly Cia died in August 2020 having reached the grand old age of !6 years. She is very much missed but has certainly left a legacy.
I am now completely hooked on the breed and am passionate about ensuring they remain a healthy, happy breed by careful breeding and selection of dog owners!
I have got to know and love the Lagotto and have trained my dogs in a variety of dog sports including scent work, hoopers and Rally with my main sport being Dog Agility.
I am an Agility Club Approved Instructor (1st Class) and previously ran my own Dog Agility club in Berkshire, England for several years. Having relocated to Scotland, I set up another dog training club and alongside dog agility I now also teach a new dog sport, Scent Hurdle. Over the years I have run several dog training events and grooming workshops throughout the UK for both the Lagotto Romagnolo Association and the Lagotto Romagnolo Club of Great Britain. I am a founder member and committee member of the Lagotto Romagnolo Association formed in 2012.
I have a particular interest in the long term health and well-being of the Lagotto . I work closely with the Kennel Club Breed Health representative (LRA) to support responsible breeding practices and promote awareness of key health considerations . Additionally I serve on the board of the Lagotto Romagnolo Foundation, an international group of dedicated enthusiasts committed to education, research and advocacy for the Lagottos future.
I act as joint rescue representative for the Lagotto Romagnolo Association, helping to ensure that Lagottos in need find safe supportive homes.
I breed occasionally and welcome enquiries. Please see my contact page.
